for parents of teens with intellectual/developmental disabilities
Do you know which way to go to launch your child through school and out into the adult world?
If you want some good company and guidance, join our free monthly parent group to help you navigate this big transition. With the support of other parents and useful information, parents can align with their teen/young adult to co-create a great life.
We’ll cover Social Security benefits, Medicaid waivers, employment options, guardianship & alternatives, financial planning & preparation, recreation, college/vocational training, and other aspects of adult life including relationships, housing, transportation, and self-determination.
Develop and implement your own action plan with this three-part approach:
Learn about and begin to access adult services and funding
Identify and address home and community-based skills teens need to achieve long-term goals
Utilize the transition goals in the IEP to align with adult life
Meets from 6-8 PM on the third Wednesday of the month
