Self Advocates Becoming Empowered (SABE)
Meets the first Friday of every month
Self Advocates Becoming Empowered (SABE) of Boulder & Broomfield Counties is part of a national self advocacy group. SABE started because people with intellectual and developmental disabilities were isolated and segregated, and our voices were not being heard.
Join us to:
Share stories and get to know other self advocates
Hear about community resources
Figure out how systems work
Learn about advocating for yourself
Meet self-advocates from across the state at quarterly meetings
Work with legislators & agencies
SABE Meetings:
SABE members meet on the first Friday of every month to talk about issues, rights, benefits, and fundraising. Together we brainstorm ideas, learn about the system from guest speakers, go to the Capitol to educate decision makers. Advisors support this work. If you want to get involved, please contact Ailsa Wonnacott at 303-527-0888 or click on her name to send an email!
