A Study Funding Associated with Single Entry Point and Target Case Management Activities Performed by Community Centered Boards (CCBs) - November 16, 2009Activities performed by CCBs (private non-profit organizations designated in statue as the single entry point into long-term service and support systems) were studied to determine if each activity is mandated and if payments made for mandated activities are adequate. Their study identified areas where CCB operations could be streamlined and includes recommendations on improving the processes. The State contracts with twenty Community Centered Boards to deliver community-based services. Each CCB has a non-overlapping geographic service region of one to ten counties serving from 70 to 1,600 individuals each. CCBs are responsible for intake, disability determination, waiver and program eligibility determination, service plan development, arrangement for services, delivery of services (either directly and/or through purchase), monitoring, and many other functions. This report provides options to improve the system so that clients continue to receive quality care and achieve good outcomes with greater efficiency.
